Cantigas d'Amigo: a Spanish and Celtic Tapestry of Song
Join Drea Pressley, mezzo soprano, Richard Savino, grammy-nominated guitarist, and guest artists on a musical journey through Ms. Pressley's Spanish and Celtic heritage. Instruments include vihuela, baroque guitar, viola da gamba, hurdy gurdy, recorder, and cello. From the Spanish Baroque period, to songs sung in Irish and Scots-Gaelic, to the medieval music of Galicia, there is sure to be something to delight everyone!
Drea Pressley, mezzo soprano, enjoys a burgeoning career in the US and abroad performing with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and has performed with New Orleans Opera Association, and Operafestival di Roma. Ms. Pressley concluded a tour of Europe premiering John Adam's new work, The Gospel According to the Other Mary. Drea can be heard on movie soundtracks including Cowboys and Aliens, Avatar, and Godzilla. Ms. Pressley enjoys performing with several of New Mexico's premiere arts organizations, including Santa Fe Pro Musica, and has sung for the Santa Fe Opera, Santa Fe New Music, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. Drea is currently working on her project Cantigas d'Amigo: a Spanish and Celtic Tapestry of Song - a concert that takes the audience on a musical journey through her heritage.
