"From the Page to the Screen" - Emerging Filmmaker's Workshop Series
This 3-part series is designed for the emerging filmmaker, videographer, or individual with an interest in working in the film industry or creating their own independent films.  Each session is independent in and of itself; participants may register for an individual session, two sessions, or all three sessions.

Gary Scovil, of Scovil Productions, presents a 3-Part series of workshops designed for the emerging filmmaker or for individuals with an interest in working in the film industry or creating their own independent film.  This series covers from the script in hand to the shoot and through editing.  Each session is independent in and of itself; participants may register for an individual session, two sessions or all three sessions.  Early registration is recommended due to limited seating.  Once seating capacity has been met, registration will be closed.

An award-winning film producer, Mr. Scovil has over four decades of audio, television, and film production experience. Starting his career as the owner of a recording studio in the 1970's and 1980s, Mr. Scovil has produced and audio engineered film soundtracks and musical albums for artists of every style. Gary did the audio engineering for the film Against Wind and Tide: A Cuban Odyssey, nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature of 1982. He has produced weekly television shows for FOX and syndication. Mr. Scovil wrote, filmed and edited the documentary The Utopian Fairhope, winner of the Alabama Showcase Award by the Alabama International Film Festival and was also a featured film at the South Alabama Film Festival. Additionally, Mr. Scovil produced and directed the holocaust documentary film, We Remember, featured in the Mobile Jewish Film Festival (2014), among many others.
