Chasing Courage

There is one thing I know to be true: vulnerability is the birthplace of courage. Brene` Brown, fellow social worker and world renowned research professor, has taught us that "owning our story and loving ourselves through the process is the bravest thing that we will ever do". Aint that the truth.

This is my third performance at The Triad in a year (where does the time go?!). Before that, I had not performed for nearly 17 years, so having a solo show and having it be so well received felt like nothing short of a miracle! Now, as I get ready to debut my next cabaret, I feel more excited than ever to continue sharing my theme-based storytelling through various musical genres (yeah, I get it, it's a mouthful!)...

So, with that, my new show is entitled, "Chasing Courage" , which is about just that: finding that courage inside of ourselves to reach the destination, the courage to change the destination, to take risks, to be ok with wanting to just be an ordinary human being, and to realize that nothing we need is outside of our own beating, grasping heart. Deep stuff. Beautiful stuff.

I humbly invite you to join me at my next show, where we will explore courage and also celebrate being exactly who and where we are at this very moment (for better or worse). My guess is that we don't do enough of that.
