Into MacDream
Equine Dell Arte's third show, is "Into MacDream," a comedy mash-up of Into the Woods, Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest and Macbeth!

And just because we don't do things small, we've added horses as our scene partners!

This fun and fantastical romp follows a teen age girl who doesn't fit in with the popular crowd, due to a disability. Her parents, who mean well, push her to attend a party which turns out disastrous. By the time she returns home, she is exhausted and falls asleep in the stall with her best friend, her horse Falstaff.

What happens next is a wild dream, where the blend of the awake life mixes into her dream state. She meets the Witch Sycorax from The Tempest who is looking for revenge against Prospero. As they journey through the woods together, they come across a variety of characters from Shakespeare to Sondheim's Into the Woods.

This original play has been written and performed to raise awareness about bullying, tolerance, and compassion for others who may seem different. It is one-act, running a little over an hour, performed in an arena in Commedia Dell Arte style. As usual, EDA will donate a portion of the box office to Shadow Hills Riding Club for the therapeutic riding program.

INTO MACDREAM is EDA's educational outreach show, hoping to go into schools 2015/16 (without horses) or have schools come to us (and play with horses) in order to teach tolerance, anti-bullying along with technique and styles of classical theater.
