"CelloBop/Mandolin Houseboat Concert
This long-awaited duo album features mainly cello and mandolin, but Brian and Gideon added many other instruments including tenor banjo, lap steel guitar, distorted electric mandolin, glockenspiel, percussion and vocals. The album includes new songs from Brian and Gideon and is really fun and original.
Gideon Freudmann is an internationally renowned innovative composer and songwriter who plays an electric cello with a fusion of Blues, Jazz, Folk, Classical and Rock that he calls CelloBop. He has been featured on NPR, TED, Weeds and more. Brian Oberlin is an internationally acclaimed mandolin player and educator who plays Swing, Bluegrass, and Italian Classical as a solo mandolinist and vocalist. He's been a top ten finalist at the 2013 Telluride Troubadour Contest, an instructor/performer at the International Mandolin Academy in Italy, and a featured soloist at the 2014 EuroFest Plucked String Festival in Bruchsal, Germany. He's the founder and director of the Oregon Mandolin Orchestra and has collaborated with a myriad of award-winning bands, including the Ger Mandolin Orchestra with Mike Marshall.
