Doug Wimbish Bass Clinic and Masterclass
Bassist Doug Wimbish is widely known for his membership in the Grammy Award winning rock band Living Colour as well as the original bassist for the Sugar Hill Records label, backing The Sugar Hill Gang, Funky Four Plus One, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five and The Sequence, playing on many of the label's greatest hits including "The Message", "Apache", "8th Wonder" and writing the bassline for "Funk You Up". Wimbish is considered to be a pioneer in hip hop bass playing and the use of bass effects, alternate tunings and extended hand techniques. Wimbish, as a sought after studio and touring musician, has released two solo albums - "Trippy Notes for Bass" and "CinemaSonics". Wimbish has recorded, toured and played across all genres and with a wide array of artists including Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Billy Idol, George Clinton, Depeche Mode, Seal, Joe Satriani, Mos Def, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Annie Lennox, James Brown, Afrika Bambaataa, Will Downing, Al Green and Tarja Turunen to name a few.
