Starry Mountain Singers sing Amidon
"The arrangements are absolutely beautiful..." -John Feierabend, former president of the National Organization of Kodaly Educators and founder of the Feierabend Association for Music Education
Peter and Mary Alice Amidon's choral arrangements and compositions are being sung by community, hospice, high school, college and church choirs across the U.S. and the U.K.
"I can't express to you how moved I am by these songs and arrangements. They are astoundingly beautiful and expressive." -Kathy Gross - Choir Director, Maple Street Congregational Church, Danvers, Massachusetts
This concert is a celebration of the publication of the Amidons' books and companion CDs: "Fifty-five Anthems for the Small Church Choir" and "Twenty-five Anthems for Interfaith & Community Choirs". Of course many of the arrangements in the concert are from those two collections, you will also hear arrangements the Amidons have completed since those collections were released.
The Starry Mountain Singers is an extraordinarily gifted group of singers, all alumni of Village Harmony and Northern Harmony tours, that include Brattleboro's own Stefan Amidon and Zara Bode (both of Sweetback Sisters fame), as well as Emily Miller (the other Sweetback Sister), Suzannah Park, Jeff Fellinger, Avery Book, Gideon Crevoshay, and joined by the angelic soprano Cora Kelly.
