This 10 week course focuses on the research and exemplary practices that help students acquire strong reading comprehension skills via reciprocal teaching. It provides participants with a synthesis of the research base on reciprocal teaching and helps all K-12 teachers increase their students' comprehension of text-whether that text is a literature selection or a subject area textbook. Oppotunities for practice, application and reflection will be provided throughout the course.
By the end fo the course, every participant will be expected to share how reciprocal teaching strategies were implemented in their classrooms.
