The St. Blaze Alumni Musical
You said you'd never go back.
The St. Blaze Alumni Musical, a world premiere rock musical from Dallas writers and composers, is a story of graduates of the St. Blaze Preparatory High School Theater program who return to their high school to put on a show to save their theater from closing. Old romances are rekindled, old musical rivalries are renewed, and old people have to re-learn how to dance, sing, and make jazz with their hands. Written by Lauren Reeves Wallace and John M. Farrell (Willy Wonka and the Bad Legal Pun), with music and lyrics by Nick Martin (Teen Brain, Skippyjon Jones), and based on a true story, the St. Blaze Alumni Musical is for anyone who ever felt they needed a little more drama in their life.
This production at the historic Margot Jones Theater in Fair Park will feature live music from The Mike Drake Band and a concert version of the show with costumes, lights, sound and blocking. There will be some scripts and sheet music onstage for this showcase. The goal for this production is to promote the script and songs for the Dallas theater community, with the express goal of partnering with a local theater company for a production in 2016-2017.
