Tango Workshop with Tomas Corbalan

The Durango Tango Community is so excited to announce that we are bringing Tomás Corbalán to town to teach a 2 day-Workshop.

Tomás is a Buenos Aires Native that currently resides and teaches Tango in NY. He comes from a family long associated with Tango, professional Tango singers and bandoneon players. He took his first Tango steps at age 7. Places Tomas has taught include Argentina, China, Singapore, Germany, Italy, New Orleans, New York and Miami and is invited all over to share his talents. Some of his main influences are Chicho Frumboli, Julio Balmaceda and Damian Lobato.

* NOTE these classes are best suited for those with basic knowledge in Tango fundamentals: beginner-Intermediate. Private lessons are dedicated to all levels from very beginner-advanced.

Workshop Details:

Saturday, May 9 @ 1- 2:30pm
PLAYFUL SEQUENCES: Focusing on feeling liberated in the dance and playing on the dance floor.

3- 4:30pm:
BACK CROSSES FOR SOCIAL DANCE: There are so many possibilities that we will explore here.

- Customer has the opportunity to purchase a SINGLE WORKSHOP for Saturday or a SATURDAY WORKSHOP BUNDLE PASS, which includes both classes. Purchase of one or more Workshops on Saturday gets you into the practilonga (practilonga + casual milonga) event. Attendance to the one or two of the Workshops on Saturday is necessary to gain entry to the practilonga. If it happens to rain, then the Practilonga will commence at the Groove U Studio. Along with dancing your heart out, you will have the opportunity to win a fabulous, decadent, sultry gift basket at the Gazebo!

MUSICALITY AND EXPRESSION: Igniting an emotional response to feel and express contrast in the music. This is going to be a blast! SUNDAY WORKSHOP ADMISSION is $20.

All Workshops will take place at the Groove U Studio, 26369 HWY 160- Across from the Home Depot (in-between Dietz Market and Eagle Crane.)
