Goodnight Moonshine at Cellar Stage
"Few singers turn first time listeners into eternal fanatics as effortlessly as Molly Venter Her voice is like an unbelievable Burgundy; many notes, flavors, fragrances, and it all goes down like silk." ~ American Songwriter Magazine
Goodnight Moonshine is a collaboration of songwriters Molly Venter of the chart-topping Americana group Red Molly and Eben Pariser of the explosive Brooklyn quartet Roosevelt Dime. Steeped in the 90's alternative music of their youth, the husband and wife duo play modern folk music with brazen vocals and roots &; blues guitar. Imagery-rich stories and bold melodies create a sound that is both celebratory and mournful, reminding the listener of what it felt like to fall in love with a band for the first time.
The Goodnight Moonshine partnership reflect their desire to create intelligent art through an honest reveal of their full, complex, and now married life. Pariser adds, "we're a newlywed couple, letting you in on our life together through our music. All the good stuff, but also the dark, challenging stuff the stuff that often goes unsaid. No kitsch. It's largely positive and healing through the revelation that we are at the core, just normal folks trying to make a marriage work. A positive loving relationship, and a deeply artistic and somewhat daring one."
Making music professionally since 2004, Venter's songs have been placed in multiple indie films and most recently the FOX series Red Band Society, as well as used promotionally by Jeep and Apple. She has been touring internationally for the last 5 years with Americana female-trio Red Molly; whose last two records hit top ten on the Americana Charts and #1 for the year on the Folk Charts. Lauded by the New York Times as "a perpetual crowd pleaser" Pariser's band Roosevelt Dime tours nationally and their latest album Full Head Of Steam hit top 10 on the Folk Charts in New York and nationally. Roosevelt Dime has been featured in Relix Magazine, CMT Edge, Performer Magazine and The Bluegrass Situation.
