Opening Doors
Before setting out on its next adventure, New Helvetia Theatre presents a one night only cabaret featuring founding artistic director, Connor Mickiewicz, and some of his NHT friends. For the last three years, the company has called 1028 R Street home, but it is time to move on and explore deeper into the heart of Sacramento and its place in the community. Told through song and anecdotes, Mickiewicz has created a musical collage reflecting his hopes and dreams while tackling personal disappointments and occasional disillusions along the way. Hopefully humorous, human, and brutally honest, the evening is a celebration of surrender and the joys it can bring. Selections include works by Stephen Sondheim, Adam Guettel, Jacques Brel, Stew and others as well as pieces from the next generation of writers.
