The Cash Express is a Johnny Cash Tribute Band, playing a "Cash" mix of rock-a-billy, old country, blues and traditional hitscoined by the band as pure "Cash-a-billy". The Johnny & June Show combines Cash favorites with historical accounts of one of America's most beloved singing-storytellers. Get on board The Express for a fun, toe-tapping trip through the life and times of Johnny & June. The show is a true timeless piece of Americana that will be enjoyed by everyone.
The Express was born from Lee Blanton's solo careera client liking his "Cash" voice, asked him for five years running, to put on a tribute show. The first show in 2011, was sold out, as were successive shows and the band was born. Melinda Bremmer (lead vocals, back ground vocals and rhythm), joined the group in 2013, which introduced June to the mix. In 2014, Steve Spence, joined the group on standup bass, replacing drums in order to get an authentic early "Cash" sound and focusing more
on the rock-a-billy style that Cash began with. Rick Burnett also joined in 2014 and gave the band a authentic "Luther" sound. The Cash Express is a true piece of Americana that is timeless and will be enjoyed by everyone.
We'll also be serving Johnny's favorite foods for dinner for the complete experience!
