Seven girls between the ages of 6 and 12 invite you to enjoy a concert of classical, contemporary and folk songs from the Arab World.
The seven have beautiful voices, love Arabic music and are proud of their cultural heritage. They have been working to perfect their Arabic pronunciation, their singing skills, voices and musicianship under the guidance of Moroccan musician and singer Younes El-Makboul, himself a virtuoso violinist, 'oudist and percussionist.
Their repertoire, sung in solo and in ensemble, includes songs by two beloved singers, Egyptian Abdelhalim Hafez and Lebanese Fairuz.
The program is co-sponsored by Zawaya and the Arab American Cultural Center of Silicon Valley.
