Honor Him Who Honors Everybody: George Washington's Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior
The father of our country steps through time to reaffirm the rules of etiquette he drafted as a boy for a penmanship assignment. These social imperatives amount to a philosophy steeped in strenuous consideration for the comfort of one's companions. Before he led the Continental Army to victory, before he became Commander-in-Chief, George Washington was a young man who knew that honor most naturally attends those who freely bestow it. Ladies and gentlemen, quiet your cellphones, and uncross your legs - the original Miss Manners is back!
