GREGS Illuminati Prom: The Great Gatsby Excess and Decadence
On Saturday, May 16th, 2015
GREGS will transport you back to the 1920s for a Great Gatsby themed Prom! Prepare yourself for a night of excess and decadence.
We'll have live entertainment from 9:00PM - Midnight and crown a King and Queen of Illuminati at Midnight.
Dress your best! We'll have a photographer on hand taking your pictures (available for print and purchase). We'll also be selecting a small handful of individuals best fitting the theme "The Great Gatsby - Excess & Decadence" and nominating them to the royal court for a chance to take away the crown!
We'll also be raising money for IYG. Once nominated to the royal court, ballot boxes will be set out for each candidate and your dollars will decide who is going to be this years KING & QUEEN of the ILLUMINATI! In addition we will have a silent auction. All money raised will be charitably contributed to IYG at the end of the night.
Why are we calling it the "Illuminati Prom"? The Illuminati is a secret organization allegedly filled with pop royalty, like Madonna, Beyonce and Rihanna. The organization, most notably symbolized with a triangle and eye on any dollar bill, mirrors the gay community's involvement in the margins of society influencing so many aspects of our culture, and one of the oldest gay symbols is the inverted triangle.
Besides, who wouldn't want to be crowned King or Queen of the Illuminati - its quite the honor in ANY circle!
