Chicago Solo Theatre: It's Personal
Hosted by Founder/Director David Boyle. We'll have local performers Sarah Bunger & Arlene Malinowski!
BYOB!!! Bring your alcoholic beverage of choice to enjoy during the performance. You can still get lots of tasty non-alcoholic beverages from Overflow Coffee Bar too.
Chicago Solo Theatre is dedicated to producing the finest solo plays and storytelling events in the Midwest. See their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ChicagoSoloTheatre
Sarah Bunger grew up in one of the smallest towns imaginable outside of Dayton, Ohio (think: flashing caution light, a gas station/Subway sandwich shop, and lots and lots of cows). Since moving to the big city seven years ago, she is adjusting to the long winters and nearly complete lack of cows. She teaches English to sophomores and seniors, relishing every minute she gets to re-experience Holden Caulfield, Blanche Dubois, and Nick Carraway. (But not those boys from Lord of the Flies. Because, gross). She is a Moth Grand Slam Story Champion, and hopes to tell more stories in 2015 and beyond.
Arlene Malinowski's solo plays "What Does The Sun Sound Like?" and "Aiming For Sainthood" have enjoyed successful runs in theaters across the US including Chicago's Victory Gardens. When she is not performing, Arlene is a resident playwright and instructor at Chicago Dramatists. Arlene's latest solo play "A Little Bit Not Normal" will be performed at Chicago Street Theater in Valporaiso, Indiana in May. Info: arlenemalinowski.com
David Boyle is the founder/artistic director of Chicago Solo Theatre. He has performed at Story Lab, This Much Is True, Essay Fiesta, Ragdale Ring Series and Story Sessions and looks forward to appearing in Adult Education at the Acorn Theatre in Three Oaks Michigan in August. He has written and performed 2 full-length solo plays; "An Accidental Organist" and "You Don't Have To Be A Whore".
