"Cabaret," book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, is set in 1931 Weimar-era Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power.  You are pulled immediately into the sensual, razzle-dazzle nightlife of the popular, but seedy Kit Kat Klub.  Here, the most captivating, manipulating Master of Ceremonies/Emcee boldly articulates: "Forget your troubles, live dangerously! Celebrate!  For life is a Cabaret, beautiful, yes?!" This ignites a romance between a sassy, young, English, Kit-Kat performer, Sally Bowles, and a handsome American writer, Cliff Bradshaw.  But also revealed is the heartfelt love lost between an ederly German boarding-house owner Fräulein Schneider, and a gentleman suitor Herr Schultz, a Jewish fruit vendor.  This show will stir your emotions every which way.  And you'll love it.

The original Broadway production, directed by Harold Prince and choreographed by Ron Field, was a huge hit, winning eight "Tony" awards including Best Musical 1967.  It also inspired numerous subsequent productions in London and New York, as well as the 1972 film by the same name. Memorable songs from this latest 1998 version of the show include "Willkomen," "Maybe This Time," Mein Herr," and "Money."
