Wendy Gerstel, licensed Engineering Geologist and Hydrogeologist and owner of Qwg Applied Geology, has over 30 years of experience working with private landowners, federal, tribal, state and local jurisdictions. Experience includes providing coastal geologic, geomorphic, and hydrogeologic data on a range of mapping, mitigation, and restoration projects around Puget Sound. She's been a popular instructor in WSU's Real Estate School for 12 years.
Erica Guttman, WSU Extension Water Resources Program, brings over 30 years of experience combining on-the-ground projects with education for a wide range of landowner and professional audiences on topics including shoreline processes, green stormwater infrastructure, sustainable landscaping, and revegetation techniques. Her MS is in ecological restoration with a focus on the Puget Sound nearshore. She is certified by the Dept. of Licensing and has been an instructor for Real Estate professionals for over 15 years.
Nicole Faghin, Washington Sea Grant Coastal Management Specialist, brings 25 years as a land use and environmental planner and lawyer specializing in coastal zone management and waterfront planning issues. Nicole focuses on alternative shoreline stabilization, marine renewable energy, and working waterfronts. Nicole manages Green Shores for Homes, a multiagency effort to create a voluntary rating system for shoreline homeowners who want to support healthy marine ecosystems. A LEED Accredited Professional, Nicole is a member of the University of Washington Department of Urban Design and Planning Professionals Council. Nicole received her masters in urban planning from MIT and her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
Ben Kaufman, Founder and Designated Broker of KW GreenWorks, managing over $60 Million in real estate transactions, has been active in low impact land development and marketing and selling real estate for 15 years and serves on the Executive Team of the Seattle/King County Built Green program. Ben is a manager and investor of 32-home sustainable community development in Newcastle, and helped develop KW GreenWorks's 14 clock-hour approved class, "Green Agent Essentials." The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish County awarded Ben a "Built Green Pioneer Award" at the 2009 Built Green Conference in Seattle.
