The Medical Abortion (MAB) Support Training is hosted by the SPIRAL Collective (Supporting People in Reproduction, Abortion and Loss), in partnership with community midwives, doulas, educators and abortion experts to provide the most holistic and diverse approach to MAB doula support. The training will focus on Abortion Values, Expectations for a MAB procedure, Physiology and Medicine (physical processes of a MAB, medications used and drug access), Comfort and Support techniques, Dangerous/Emergent Situations, Legalities of providing MAB Support and Professional Bedside Manner in a Home Setting. We are incredibly proud of this community effort as it has allowed us to source local knowledge and expertise and truly come together as a collective.

Scholarships - The SPIRAL Collective wishes to offer scholarship spots - on a case by case basis - for queer and trans* folks, disabled folks and people of colour. We acknowledge a need for the presence of such folks in otherwise hegemonically dominated circles, and would like to facilitate the inclusion of marginalized identities within Reproductive Justice work. These spots are also available for folks who wish to commit to volunteering with us for ONE year as a MAB Support Doula. Please email us at thespiralcollective@gmail.com, with a small blurb about why you are eligible for a scholarship and we will get back to you ASAP.

NOTE: Everyone who has attended the training will be eligible to volunteer with SPIRAL to provide MAB Support in our community. We will have applications for folks seeking to volunteer with us at the training.
