An Evening of Comedy

Oxford, NJ March 4, 2015 - Howl with laughter, have a great dinner and support a marvelous cause with Family Promise of Warren County's Evening of Comedy, Saturday, June 6, 2015 At Hawk Pointe Golf Club, Route 31, Washington Township NJ. The evening includes a full buffet dinner, socializing with the comedians, cash bar and raffle all leading up to performances by four talented and very funny standup comics, led by National Headliners Vanessa Hollingshead and Mark DeMayo and featuring Adam Lucidi and Phil Sweet.

Admission to this exciting and fun filled charitable event is now just $50 and has been reduced form our original $65 pricing for all of our friends of Family Promise of Warren County. That's all, just $50 ....for a show and a dinner. Doors open at 6:00 PM, dinner begins at 7:15 PM and the comedy show starts at 8:30 PM. The cash bar and raffle will continue throughout the evening. From the first moment Vanessa hit the stage, waiting well over 4 hours at an "Open Mic" to do 5 minutes of comedy..she knew she was "home." She would temp all over the city during the day as a word-processor and be in the clubs at night to perform. She often slept in the bathrooms at work, or on her lunch hour. Vanessa never looked back. It paid off. After two years, she was able to make a living being a working comic.
Vanessa was recently on VH1's Lords of the Revolution, has had her own Comedy Central Presents, has taped her second DVD at Gotham, "American Anglomaniac" and is taping her third DVD, "Drunk" at Stand Up New York, October 17th. She was one of the first comics to go out to the Middle East when the war started. She has performed for Comedy Central in Australia, as well as numerous shows in the UK and Amsterdam, she also has had critical acclaim with her one woman show "Flashback", and just complete her second one person show, called "The Hold".
When not working, twittering, face-booking, she is active in helping people that have had serious drug/alcohol problems, and performs in prisons and institutions, and for the VA Hospitals in the NY Area. Her husband Lucien Hold passed away from complications due to Scleroderma, and she is active with that organization.

Mark DeMayo is fresh off taping Gotham Comedy Live for AXS.TV. He is a regular at the top Comedy Clubs in NYC & Tri-State area. He headlines Casino Resorts and has toured College Campuses throughout the country. Mark worked his way to the top of the comedy business, all the while continuing to fight crime as a NYC Police Detective.

Recently retired from The NYPD. Mark DeMayo is now free to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, about what its really like to be a NYC Cop. Marks stories about his days on the force are hysterical, insightful and interesting and will soon be included in his One Man Show perfectly entitled "20 & OUT". Mark also has jokes to spare on what its like to be married for a really, really long time. "My wife is beautiful, she works out, has a great body. Sometimes I look at her and think, Wow, I wish I could have sex with her". Mark's teenage children do not escape his wrath either. "My son is 16, the other day he said, dad can I have a sip of your beer? I said Absolutely not!go get your own".

Mark has been featured on ShowTime's "White Boyz in da Hood" Comedy Centrals "Laffopolooza" Si-Tv's "Latino Laughter" and the film "Stand-Up 360". He can also be seen giving celebrity commentary on MTV & Spike TV. Mark is also an accomplished actor with guest starring roles on CBS "DellaVentura" "Central Park West" and Fox "The Jury".

Adam Lucidi has been performing all over the country, bringing a sarcastic and sometimes nostalgic view of his life and the world around him. Making his television debut on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV and being featured in Time Out New York, Adam continues to leave a dent in the world of comedy. Whether he's talking about his small town, being a "buckist", or his common sense fighting against booksmarts, Adam as taken his "boy next door charm with a sharptongue," to top NYC venues like Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Comix, Broadway Comedy Club and NYU as well as colleges, comedy clubs and benefit shows across the nation. But wherever he is, one thing is guaranteed, he'll leave the audience wanting more.

Phil Sweet grew up in northeastern PA and moved to New Jersey in 1992. In 2009, he retired after 30 years with a large Corporation and started doing standup after he realized that his whole career was actually 30 years of comedy material. Phil's shrewd commentary on the modern world gone wacky gives audiences lots to think about and even more to laugh about. He has performed from Virginia to Massachusetts at comedy festivals, benefit shows and comedy clubs including Gotham, Broadway, Eastville and Laugh Lounge in NYC, Helium in Philly and Catch a Rising Star in NJ. He won the "Catch a New Rising Star" contest in 2010 and the Eastville comedy club's "Eastville's Next Headliner" contest in 2011. Phil also produces and performs in comedy benefit shows which have generated more than $70,000 for numerous philanthropic and charitable organizations.
