The Monday Club of San Luis Obispo, Architectural Tour-Designed by San Luis Obispo Women Architects, Sunday April 19, 2015
This year's Tour on Sunday, April 19, 2015, will feature five buildings designed by San Luis Obispo women architects! Marilyn Farmer, Laura Gough, Louisa Ann Smith, and The Monday Club architect Julia Morgan will be included. Did you know that the very first commercial straw bale building in California was designed by Marilyn Farmer? This structure, built for Claiborne & Churchill Winery is just one of the buildings that will be visited. Another stop will be the historic Righetti House.
Roundtrip shuttle transportation starts at the historic Monday Club, 1815 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo. The clubhouse will be open and will feature a Julia Morgan exhibit, plus refreshments! A lunch will be served either before or after your tour back at the Clubhouse.
Proceeds from this event will be used by The Monday Club to fund Fine Arts awards in music and visual arts to San Luis Obispo County high school seniors.
This is the 14th Architectural Tour produced by The Monday Club! Come enjoy this fun, culturally rich event and celebrate the past, present and future of San Luis Obispo!
