Solo Burlesque Intensive (SPRING 2015)
Starting your very first solo act? Revisiting an unfinished piece or one that didn't quite work? No matter where you are in the creative process, this 4-week intensive series is the perfect place for you to get the guidance you need in a supportive environment. Ophelia Flame offers expertise and inspiration, helping you better understand your direction, what needs attention, and how to make decisions. Bring a notebook and whatever you have so far: music, costume, sketches, or your ideas. Space is limited; advance registration is strongly encouraged. Prerequisite: Burlesque 1-3.

Time: 7:00-8:30 pm
Cost: $80 advance / $140 day of
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Known as "The Burning Sensation," Ophelia Flame is a pioneer of Minneapolis neo-burlesque, a founder of Lili's Burlesque Revue, and a mover and shaker in the world of burlesque. With her trademark red hair and elegant dance style, this fiery ecdysiast is known for her sexy-smart performances, ranging from classic to comedic. Ophelia has performed across the U.S. and is an internationally recognized burlesque performer. She has been selected as a top contender seven times at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, the preeminent burlesque event worldwide. She is honored to be on the Board of Directors and an instructor at BurlyCon Seattle, the nation's premier conference for burlesque artists. Ms. Flame has been voted one of the top burlesque performers in the world by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine, received a Golden Pastie Award for from the New York Burlesque Festival, and has been featured in The Burlesque Handbook by Jo Weldon, Marie Claire Magazine, and numerous other publications. She has been producing shows since 2004, teaching burlesque since 2005, and is founder of Minnesota's first school of burlesque, The Playful Peacock Showgirl Academy. Ophelia was a founder of Best of Midwest Burlesk, the region's first burlesque festival, and brought the international phenomenon Dr. Sketchy's to the Twin Cities. She enjoys anything shiny and cocktails at inappropriate hours.
