Chasing Shadows: The Tinker Bell Effect
Today's society is saturated with countless young men who embody the "Peter Pan Complex"... but what about the young women who resist the road to adulthood? This coming-of-age story follows Tinker Bell and her fairy friends, as they give up their wings and Never Land for a chance to become "real women" in New York City. Filled with sass, magic, and some hilariously heartbreaking realities on life as we get older, "Chasing Shadows" asks, "What would you give up, to grow up?"
After a successful debut at one of London's beloved Fringe venues, The Hen and Chicken Theatre, "Chasing Shadows" is ready to make it's mark in New York City at the prestigious Barrow Group MainStage Theatre. Written and directed by New York playwright Christina Morelli, and loosely based on the relationship between J.M. Barrie's beloved duo Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, the play explores how we change, how we let go, and how we are forever haunted by the shadows of those we've loved. This one-night only performance will be a staged reading sprinkled with a bit of pixie dust. Audience talkback and wine reception to follow immediately after.
