Presented by the Tetra String Quartet, these free Azure events are fun, friendly and engaging performances tailored to children and young adults who are on the autism spectrum or have similar challenges.  All behaviors welcome!

Since many with autism (or related challenges) cannot attend traditional music performances due to uncontrollable vocalizations or physical movements, the Tetra String Quartet felt a real need to create a musical environment whereby not only are such behaviors not frowned upon, but accepted and embraced.

Azure concerts are approximately one hour in length. Family members and caregivers of all ages are welcome to attend.  The performance will be followed by an instrument petting zoo!

The Tetra String Quartet will be joined by globe-trotting pianist and autism dad Stephen Prutsman.  He started the Azure Family Concert Series in the San Francisco Bay area and is helping Tetra bring them to Arizona!
_____________________________________

The Tetra String Quartet is a community-based ensemble that infuses performance with public service. With relevant and versatile programming at the forefront of their mission, Tetra performs with the goal of connecting with all audiences. As both clinicians and concert artists, the quartet has toured extensively throughout the United States, as well as abroad in Brazil, Ecuador, and Germany.

Stephen Prutsman has been described as one of the most innovative musicians of his time. Moving easily from classical to jazz to world music styles as a pianist, composer and conductor, Prutsman continues to explore and seek common ground and relationships in the music of all cultures and languages.  In the past, his dedication to the creation of new musical environments led him to create music festivals in such far-flung places as the island of Guam and the border town of El Paso, Texas. Passionate about the value of music for all, Stephen is actively promoting music and arts education wherever he visits.  He is involved in several projects whose missions are to create enjoyable artistic or recreational environments for children on the autistic spectrum and their families.
