The first ever Nevada Women's Film Festival comes to Las Vegas on March 14, 2015, in honor of Women's History Month. The festival will be an all day event (noon to midnight) on March 14, 2015 at Baobab Stage, in Las Vegas, Nevada (Town Square).

Tickets can be for afternoon ($8), evening ($10) or all day ($14). Prices include all fees. No hidden costs. Free passes are available for students and those in need. (Call Pattie at 702-651-4863 for more information on passes.)

The under-representation of female craft, vision, and experience in film is well documented. The Nevada Women's Film Festival seeks to increase this representation by inviting submissions from all genres, including shorts and features.

To that end, the festival will be honoring Nevada filmmaker, Rebecca Thomas at the awards ceremony at 5:30p. Thomas's "Electrick Children," filmed in Las Vegas, will be shown during the evening session.

The common element of the films shown at the festival will be a strong female presence, including representation of women at the helm and stories with strong female characters or which otherwise depict women in a positive light. Films will display diversity of worldview, background, and experience. Filmmakers of all genders, races, ethnicities, ages, socioeconomic levels, religions, height, weight and levels of abilities were encouraged to submit. Selections were made with an eye for local and emerging talent.
