DC Gypsy Jazz Workshop and Concert

The DC Area Gypsy Jazz Meetup Group and Brookmont Community Church will hold a half day Gypsy Jazz Workshop On April 18, 2015 at the Brookmont Church in Bethesda Maryland. The workshop is open to players and enthusiasts of all abilities and instruments and this is a great opportunity to learn, hear, and experience the musical styles originated by Django Rheinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France.
The Workshop will be conducted by New York-based band Tempus Fugit, followed by an evening performance by the band.
Tempus Fugit is an alliance of jazz musicians Darius Scheider and Robert Cuellari -guitar and Dallas Vietty - accordion, to create and perform original music inspired by the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt.

The repertoire delivers sophisticated yet swinging pieces, and intends to continue Django's work by performing original compositions that take Django's spirit into today. The unique sound of the band is based on the passionate and joyful conversations between the acoustic guitars and the accordion.

With Tempus Fugit you can expect to hear swinging spirited melodies, soulful passionate expression, and mind-blowing artistic virtuosity.
