Vocal Yoga
Healthy vocal projection techniques are essential for anyone who acts, teaches, coaches or otherwise talks for a living. In this 2 hr class you will learn how to breathe to support your voice in a healthy way, and how to use your voice more effectively and efficiently through proper body alignment. Heard of vocal fry? I'll explain what it is and how to avoid it and it's damaging effect.
Taught by Taylor Van Denburgh, a local performer who received her BA in Vocal Performance and Sociology from the College of St Benedict/St John's University in 2009. Taylor has taught an "Acting and Opera" workshop at Baylor University. Recent acting credits include Fake Off on The New TruTV, Daylight's Nightfall with YFX Physical Theatre, The Lower Depths with Nimbus Theatre, Guys and Dolls with Rooftop Theatre Company, Hamlet with the Minnesota Opera, and The Nark-A World Premiere with Freshwater Theatre Company-winner of an Ivey for best playwriting in 2013.Taylor also flies at Twin Cities Trapeze in St Paul.
