Butcher Paper Dinner: The M Wells
Hugue Dufour and Sarah Obraitis, of M Wells fame, merge culinary mastery and performance art like no other restaurant team in New York: where else can diners dodge the corks of sabered champagne bottles, pick out their own trout, or eat a bone-in burger?

From their original M Wells Diner, which won the highly-sought accolade of Best New Restaurant from Bon Appetit in 2011, to the quirky, cafeteria-style M Wells Dinette in MOMA PS1, to their latest epic, M Wells Steakhouse, Sarah and Hugue are dedicated to feeding the LIC community they call home.  Just so happens, we're proud to be a part of that LIC community, and we couldn't be more excited to team up with the madcap M Wellsians for a Queens picnic to end all picnics.  You're gonna want to be there.

Chef Hugue's food defies expectation.  His early days at Montreal's celebrated Au Pied de Cochon instilled in him a deep love for foie gras and maple, but his style, while distinctly Québécois, also draws from far and wide, resulting in dishes like General Tso's sweetbreads and Bi Bim Wells.  So who knows what will end up on the table this time around?

Well, we don't. But if you're buying tickets to this dinner, you know why you're buying them. These guys kill it every time. So whatever is on the table, you're going to love it, and it's going to be better than almost anything you've eaten in a long time. Take the plunge, you won't regret it.

Folks better be ready to get dirty, and to have some fun.  This is not a stuffy supper club; this is a Butcher Paper Dinner!

ABOUT BUTCHER PAPER DINNERS:
This series of fun, inventive dinner parties to be held spring through fall at Brooklyn Grange's flagship rooftop will center around the farm's massive, reclaimed white oak communal table down the length of which organizers will roll butcher paper.  A rotating lineup of the city's most innovative chefs will bring their unique culinary stylings to play with the farm's fresh, seasonal produce, serving family-style meals directly atop the paper-lined table.  This style of hands-on dining allows guests to really engage with their food, and their neighboring diners around them. Participating chefs will hail from all over the New York City area but will draw their inspiration from the eclectic diversity and bold flavors of Queens' signature culinary culture.

ABOUT QUEENS BREWERY:
Queens Brewery is a world class microbrewery based in the neighborhood of Ridgewood, Queens, NY. Their flagship brew Queens Lager is featured at Citi Field for the 2014 NY Mets and is dry-hopped with Summit, Chinook, & UK Pilgrim hops.

ABOUT HECTOR WINE COMPANY:
Hector Wine Company is a small, quality-driven winery located on the east side of Seneca Lake in Hector, NY. It's owned and operated by local viticulturist, Jason Hazlitt and winemaker, Justin Boyette. They began making wine in 2009 from grapes harvested at Jason's family business Sawmill Creek Vineyards and opened the tasting room across the street from the Vineyard in 2010. The philosophy at Hector Wine Company is that winemaking and grape growing are as much a creative endeavor as a scientific one. The crew at Hector Wine Company is committed to making distinctively high quality wines from grapes that are handpicked at optimal ripeness and manually hand sorted at the winery.  The tasting list includes mainly dry reds and whites, touched with a selection of off-dry and semi-sweet wines.  All aspects of production, from press to bottle, occur on-site; fostering the ideal that a world class wine is handled by its makers from start to finish.

DJ JAMES MULRY
Born-and-bred New Yorker James Mulry has been DJing bars, nightclubs, and private events in and around the city for over 10 years. Versatile and experienced, James can read any crowd and precisely tailors his selections to match the vibe and energy of any party.
