Butcher Paper Dinner: Pull Your Own Pork
HEY QUEENS!

Have y'all heard about Butcher Bar? If you haven't it's about time you meet Matthew Katakis, the man behind a blissful BBQ.

This Astoria, Queens native has created some of the best BBQ around at Butcher Bar, an old school Butcher Shop with modern day ideals & a BBQ Smoke House restaurant located in Astoria, Queens.  After a veritable feast on his turf last year - a must visit - we decided it's time to bring it up to ours this summer for a killer summer rooftop BBQ.  Local brews and wines, sweet summery tunes, and BBQ... see where we're headed with this?

This one's not for the faint of heart! We always eat with our hands at Butcher Paper Dinners, but this time around you'll be donning a fashionable pair of gloves and pulling your own pork.  Get ready to get a little dirty... but don't worry, we're here to help you clean up when it's over.

Make a sandwich or eat it straight, the choice is yours. If you're a sandwich maker, though, more good news!! Hudson Bread is serving up freshly baked buns for your pulled pork sandwich.

We're biased, but we're beginning to believe all the Queens hype for 2015...

ABOUT BUTCHER PAPER DINNERS:
This series of fun, inventive dinner parties to be held spring through fall at Brooklyn Grange's flagship rooftop will center around the farm's massive, reclaimed white oak communal table down the length of which organizers will roll butcher paper.  A rotating lineup of the city's most innovative chefs will bring their unique culinary stylings to play with the farm's fresh, seasonal produce, serving family-style meals directly atop the paper-lined table.  This style of hands-on dining allows guests to really engage with their food, and their neighboring diners around them. Participating chefs will hail from all over the New York City area but will draw their inspiration from the eclectic diversity and bold flavors of Queens' signature culinary culture.

ABOUT BROOKLYN GRANGE:
Brooklyn Grange is the leading rooftop farming and intensive green roofing business in the US. We operate the world's largest rooftop soil farms, located on two roofs in New York City, and grow over 40,000 lbs of organically-cultivated produce per year. In addition to growing and distributing fresh local vegetables and herbs, Brooklyn Grange also provides urban farming and green roof consulting and installation services to clients worldwide, and we partner with numerous non-profit organizations throughout New York to promote healthy and strong local communities.

ABOUT BUTCHER BAR
Our belief in old traditional methods and the exclusive use of high quality, pasture raised, no hormone or any antibiotic treated meat guarantees quality and taste.  If you haven't tried us, come on down & sample some of the finest SMOKED BBQ in NYC & take home some GOOD MEAT!

ABOUT HUDSON BREAD
Hudson Bread, North Bergen, N.J., is rather a paradox. Starting out in 1994 as a small, fully artisan bakery owned and operated by president/chief executive Mariusz (Mark) Kolodziej, Hudson Bread became a favored producer, as its scrumptious baguettes, boules, rolls, brioche, buns, Ciabattas, Pullman loaves and much more gave it plenty of momentum to grow and expand. The bakery has quickly gained the respect and praises of the tri-state area for its distinctive products, reliable customer service and sophisticated technology. Artisan baking and sophisticated equipment? We're down.

ABOUT SINGLECUT BEER:
SingleCut Beersmiths was founded in the winter of 2012 by a Queens native that wanted to redefine what 'local' meant in the NYC craft-beer community by creating unique and eccentric ales and lagrrrs! that will only ever be brewed on premise in our Astoria brewery. The closer you are to the source of the pint, the fresher it will be after all!

ABOUT BROOKLYN OENOLOGY
Brooklyn Oenology Winery (pron. 'EN-ology', or simply 'BOE'), is a locally focused winery based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn founded in 2006 by winemaker Alie Shaper. BOE works to bridge the creative culinary, agricultural and art worlds by crafting award-winning regional wines from NY State grapes, and by displaying the work of New York City artists on our bottle labels. BOE does not own vineyards; we purchase our fruit directly from New York vineyards, and then manage our winemaking, from harvest through press to fermentation, tank and/or barrel storage, and then into the bottle. As we grow we plan to bring more of our process into Brooklyn itself.
