Mindfulness & Acceptance-Based Therapies for Children & Their Parents
MONDAY, May 11, 2015, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

CEUs:  6 Credits for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LEP

FEE: $50 which includes workshop and 2 follow-up video conference calls to assimilate what was learned and discuss practical application.

CHECK IN begins at 8:00 AM

LUNCH:  Participants are own their own for lunch from noon-1pm

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1.  Present a transdiagnostic model of child assessment and treatment that emphasizes process over symptoms

2.  Describe the basic concepts of mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies as applied to children and their parents

3.  Place the development of child emotional and behavioral problems within the contexts of temperament, child development, and the transactions of child and environment, especially the social/parental environment

4.  Present mindfulness and acceptance-consistent strategies and techniques for treating a range childhood behavioral and emotional problems with special emphasis on the parent-child dyad
