Exploration in Stage Combat with Leraldo Anzaldua
Leraldo Anzaldua presents an in-depth discussion and practice of safe and dramatically effective techniques to represent violence on stage. Participants will actively explore theories of staging and performing various techniques of violence for the stage including various slaps, punches, grabs, chokes, etc. for the defender and attacker of any given scene. All experience levels.
LERALDO ANZALDUA Leraldo Anzaldua is a Houston-based actor, director & fight director. He is a Certified Teacher of Stage Combat with the Society of American Fight Directors. He is currently the Resident Fight Director for Houston Grand Opera. Works include Otello, Carmen, Rigoletto, Aida and the American debut of The Passenger. Other Houston theater company affiliations include Alley Theatre, Stages, Ensemble, Catastrophic. Leraldo received a Master's Degree in Acting from the University of Houston. Tokyo, Japan; and has been Motion Capture Fight Director & Talent for video games: The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay; Just Cause; Knights of the Temple: The Infernal Crusade.
