Miami's own and crown prince of the live music scene, sacred steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier, returns home from his extensive national tour with Karl Denson's Tiny Universe (briefly interrupted by Karl's stint with The Rolling Stones) for this special event which will utilize two stages of the multi-venue space where Vagabond once reigned. Saturday, March 14th will center around one long headlining set by the Roosevelt Collier Trio at Railroad Blues, Miami's newest and most musician and fan friendly venue, which will demonstrate just why he is one of the most in demand musicians to take the national stage. He has performed alongside stars like Warren Haynes in the Allman Brothers and Gov't Mule, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead and is a fixture featured artist at major music festivals around the country. Roosevelt IS Miami music. Come out and witness why everyone wants to jam with Rosie.
Forgotten Space, a Texas-based and nationally touring premiere Grateful Dead tribute act that features Kenny Withrow from Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, will warm up the evening. Their constant touring schedule brings them to South Florida just in time to help welcome Roosevelt home. They will kick things off at 9pm SHARP on the outdoor stage of LOT14 which is adjacent to Railroad Blues. Their two hour set will continue our weekly Saturday night celebrations of the Grateful Dead, one of America's most enduring rock bands who still hold world wide attendance records for their concerts, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
Following Roosevelt and taking the party to the early morning will be funk/groove juggernaut Lather Up!, a side-project of The Heavy Pets. This dance act fuses the jazz, funk and disco influences of the Pets, Florida's premier jamband who are in the eve of their 10th year and have recently surpassed 1,000 live performances. Lather Up! - featuring Jim Wuest on keyboards and vocals, Jamie Newitt on drums and Tony D'Amato on bass - plays a mix of fresh originals, THP classics and an array of covers in their unique virtuosic style.
Please join the royal celebration for the return of Miami's son of live music, Roosevelt Collier.
