Chicago Solo Theatre: It's Personal
Hosted by Founder/Director David Boyle. The wonderful and engaging Laura Scruggs will perform her one-woman show "Punk Grandpa".

Laura is a storyteller, actress and writer. She is a Network Playwright at Chicago Dramatists and a member of the Dramatists Guild. Some of her favorite acting roles include: Wendy in "Peter Pan," Mother of Victim in "Bully: The Hip Hop Musical" and The Third Witch in "Macbeth." She was also the Internship Program Director for The Chicago Fringe Festival for the festivals of 2013 and 2014. Laura loves faeries, festivals (such as Wizard of Oz, pierogi & craft fairs), puppets, thrift shopping, hiking, reading and social justice.
David Boyle is the founder/artistic director of Chicago Solo Theatre. He has performed at Story Lab, This Much Is True, Essay Fiesta, Ragdale Ring Series and Story Sessions and looks forward to appearing in Adult Education at the Acorn Theatre in Three Oaks Michigan in August. He has written and performed 2 full-length solo plays; "An Accidental Organist" and "You Don't Have To Be A Whore".
PARKING We have limited permit parking available in the lot behind our building. First come, first serve. To get your parking permit, please pull up to the flashing zone heading South on State Street in front of Overflow Coffee Bar. Parking permits are available for $5 at the Box Office (opens half hour before the show). Cash is preferable, but we do take credit card.
Other options include street metered parking for $2 an hour, or you can use the valet parking service with the Tapas Valencia restaurant just north a half block from us.
PUBLIC TRANSIT The State buses 29 & 62 stop at 16th Street. Michigan buses 1, 3, & 4 stop at 16th as well, and then just walk west two blocks to our building. The Roosevelt train stop is a short 10-15 minute walk away, or you can catch a bus to come down State Street to 16th. There is a Divvy bike station at 16th and State.
