Ensemble San Francisco is holding a competition for talented pre-college piano and string players to join in a pair of concerts. The guest pianist will perform the dramatic first movement of Schumann's Piano Quartet, and the guest strings will join ESF onstage for the first movement of Tchaikovsky's Souvenirs de Florence.
Ensemble SF members Jonah Kim and Christine McLeavey Payne will present the tempestuous and romantic Sonata for Cello and Piano by Samuel Barber, and then will be joined by SF Symphony's wonderful Elina Lev to close the program with the audience favorite Mendelssohn Piano Trio in D minor.
