Planning Your Organic Garden
Year-round gardening is a reality for Sonoma residents and is not hard to accomplish. Whether you're planning a new garden or have established plantings, this class will teach you what to seed, plant and grow in your garden for the spring and the rest of the year. We will talk about plant spacing, timing, and whether to direct sow or plant from starts. Learn what to do in your garden to reap a bounty all year! We will tour Sonoma Garden Park to look at what is started in the greenhouse and out in the field.
Rebecca Bozzelli was trained at the University of California, Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems and has been farming and gardening for over 14 years. Her passions are growing food and community and she is very well acquainted with Sonoma Garden Park, as the former Garden Manager there for 5 years. Now she is the farmer at an organic and soon to be Biodynamic farm and vineyard up in the dry creek valley, Preston Farm and Vineyards, where she tends over 5 acres of vegetables and fruit production for local farmers' markets and restaurants.
