An Evening with Jan Pietrzak
We will have an opportunity to see Jan Pietrzak live with an "old" program that was so crucial in raising societal awareness. In his stand-up comedy shows and events he would endlessly ridicule the communistic government and its people. His performances were not all about the laughter. They were very serious and had heavy moments that made people realize that "something has to be done" about this horrible system. He gave his listeners hope of better times to come. One of the songs he performed, "Zeby Polska byla Polska" (Let Poland be Poland) was widely known by Poles, and was the unofficial anthem of the Solidarity movement.
Towarzystwo Patriotyczne (Patriotic Society) is a Non-Profit organization. Proceeds from the event will be donated to this organization to help cover expenses of legal actions against media, publishers and others that choose to publicize untruthful information about Polish history, especially regarding WWII. Profits from the event in Minneapolis will be also be used to sponsor the creation of the Monument commemorating the 100th anniversary of Poland defeating the Russian Army in 1920.
Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Specialty deserts and refreshments, including alcoholic beverages, will be available for purchase.
