Event
VDAY 2015 at Antioch University Los Angeles
VDAY is a growing global network of organizations and other groups working to end violence. It is also the recipient of push back and controversy from many feminist, indigenous and gender variant groups.
This year, AULA* has cast a variety of performers to create a colorfully expressive take on two of VDAY's most awesome shows: A Memory A Monologue A Rant and A Prayer, and Vagina Monologues. We will also be circulating conversations and information about what's happening globally outside of VDAY, what people have had to say about VDAY and Eve Ensler, and visions for the future of the movement.
This year, all the money we raise will benefit two local organizations working to end violence:
Trans Youth Speak http://www.survivorstruths.org/transyouth
and
A New Way of Life Reentry Project: http://www.anewwayoflife.org/
A Memory A Monologue A Rant and A Prayer will go live on Friday February 27th at 7pm.
Vagina Monologues will go live on Saturday February 28th at 7pm.
On both nights a pre-performance art sale will debut works from the community. All art will be based on a pay-what-you-can with a suggested flat rate donation. All proceeds will benefit our selected organizations.
For more information on VDAY, or to ask questions, please contact Producer Misty Dawn Spicer at mspicer@antioch.edu
Show Directors are Cleo Anderson and Kyle Sawyer.
SUPPORT AN END TO VIOLENCE. COME TOGETHER. SHARE THE CAUSE. ENVISION THE FUTURE.
WE WILL SEE YOU THERE!!!!!!!!!!!
