Venture Outdoors Fest
*You must be at least 18 years of age to attend this spring's Venutre Outdoors Fest*
For families and other individuals under the age of 18 interested in attending, follow us on Facebook for news about our all-ages event at Cape Henlopen State Park this October.
Grab your crew, scrounge up a tent, strap on your "get-dirty" shoes and get ready for a weekend of outdoor adventure!
On Saturday, May 16th meet us at Lums Pond State Park for a day of outdoor recreation. We'll provide you with plenty of fun outdoor activities, give you some grub, and offer free camping for one or two nights, your choice. In the evening grab some dinner, listen to some music, try out some alcohol samples and keep toasty by a campfire.
General admission is $50. If you would like to add GoApe, the total is $87 per person.
Activities available include:
Rock Climbing Wall Ziplining with GoApe Treetop Adventure (price not included) Horseback Riding with Sunset Stables (price not included) Live Musical Performances Camping (optional; 1 or 2 nights) Survival Skills Courses Stand-up Paddle Boarding Kayaking Canoeing Adult Beverage Tastings (must be at least 21 years of age or older) Paddle Boating Hayride Frog Call Guided Walks and Paddles with Delaware State Parks Naturalists Bird Walks Geocaching Archery Yoga Sessions Orienteering Stargazing Primitive Brewing Demonstration from Jeff Moore Biking Fishing Games such as softball, kickball, football, volleyball, horseshoes, soccer, corn hole, tennis, disc golf, cricket, Irish road bowling, badminton, basketball, and more AND MORE STILL TO COME!
*** PLEASE NOTE: You MUST reserve your GoApe time slot early in order to receive the discounted price of $37/person. These slots WILL run out! In addition, please make your reservations with Sunset Stables separate from your Venture Outdoors Fest registration. Do this as early as possible! ***
Lunch and dinner on May 16th will be provided. Area 3 of the park, where the event's main hub will be, will have one fire ring and multiple grills for cooking on May 15th, if you desire. You are not permitted to build your own fire. All meals will be served in Area 3, alongside the live music, alcohol tastings, and free campsites for participants. Camping is not required for this year's Venture Outdoors Fest. You may reserve a campsite in the campground if you wish, however you will be charged at the full rate.
Payment information: A representative from Delaware State Parks will call you for payment information. Alternatively, you can mail in your payment as cash or a check. A receipt will be e-mailed or mailed back to you. Please contact Riley Hays if you have any futher questions regarding payment.
The last day to register is May 1, 2015 by 4:00pm. We will accept late registrants, but please understand that priority is given to those who register on time.

FAQs:
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Yes. You must be 18 years of age to attend Venture Outdoors Fest, and 21 years of age to partake in our alcohol samples. You must have your ID with you.
Is there a refund policy?
We will offer refunds for this event until the final day of registration (May 1, 2015 at 4pm).
What will my $50 include?
The $50 admission fee will include your entrance fee to the park, lunch and dinner on May 16, breakfast on May 17, all activities with the exception of Go Ape and Horseback Riding, live music, alcohol samples (if 21 years of age), and a t-shirt (first-come first-served).
Do I have to camp?
No. If you do not want to stay the night, feel free to just come and enjoy the activities on May 16.
You can camp both Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16, or choose either day to camp.
You are also welcome to camp in the Lums Pond Campground, but please note this will be an extra fee.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Please be aware that smoking is prohibited at this event, but there are areas within the Park where smoking is allowed.
One alcoholic beverage will be provided to each participant. Outside alcohol is allowed only in Area 3 for this particular event. If you bring your own alcohol, it cannot leave Area 3.
Park Staff have the right to remove anyone from the park premises who violate Park or event rules.
Please bring a tent and camping equipment: flashlights, sleeping bags, pillow, lawn chairs, etc. You may bring any other recreational equipment of your own that you choose.
Delaware State Parks will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to your equipment.
A limited number of tents and sleeping pads are available upon request. You are responsible for set-up and packing of any borrowed equipment. Please contact us if you would like to borrow anything.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, with prior notice. If something comes up and you can't make it and a friend can, give us a call and let us know who you're handing the ticket over to.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, please bring your ticket with you to the event for registration purposes, as well as verification of payment.
