Rage City Rollergirls Bootcamp February 2015
Have you ever dreamed of becoming a Rollergirl? How about a referee so you can tell Rollergirls what to do? No matter your age (as long as you're at least 18 years of age), body type, current fitness level, hairstyle, or any other reason you might be afraid to try, we want you!
The Rage City Rollergirls is Anchorage's women's roller derby league since 2007. Skaters are female but referees can be male or female.
Our currently active skaters range in age from 18 to 52 (that's two 52-year olds, and one is on the All-Star team. The 18-year old is in Rollergirl training). The average age is mid to late 30s.
NO SKATING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
That is the purpose of our introductory boot camps: we teach you! Most of us started wobbling around like Bambi on ice. Many of us have never played on a competitive sports team. If you have the desire and drive to be a part of Rage City, you will succeed.
We cannot play roller derby without a dedicated group of referees. If becoming a referee sounds more your style, please join us! Referees do need to master basic skating and safety skills, but will not be subjected to hits later on like the Rollergirls (at least, not on purpose).
Rage City Rollergirls is truly a welcoming group and we hope you'll give us a try. If you want to get in shape in 2015, or stay in shape, and you're tired of running on machines like a hamster, or promising yourself that "tomorrow" you'll work out, then come check us out.
Your $40 admission to the February bootcamp gets you in to the following sessions, all held at the AT&T Sports Pavilion:
Saturday, February 7: 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
Saturday, February 21: 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
Saturday, February 28: 8:00 pm-10:00 pm

helmet
mouth guard
elbow pads
wrist guards
knee pads (caps must be white or covered)
skates
