We Know How This Ends Book Launch
Please join us for a special event to celebrate the publication of We Know How This Ends: Living while Dying by Bruce H. Kramer and Cathy Wurzer in conversation with Kerri Miller.
We Know How This Ends, forthcoming April 1 from the University of Minnesota Press, details discoveries by authors Bruce H. Kramer and Cathy Wurzer as they embarked on a journalistic project to document Kramer's struggle with ALS.
What began as a series of interviews on the subject of a debilitating and terminal illness became a deep mutual understanding and friendship as both authors came to terms with loss and new beginnings. For Kramer, progressive illness brought the loss of his professional life as a dean at the University of St. Thomas, as well as his physical health and autonomy. During the same period, MPR Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer lost her father to a debilitating battle with dementia. For both, the experiences were life changing and transformative.
Join Kramer and Wurzer with MPR News host Kerri Miller for a conversation about the making of the book, their work together over the years, and the life lessons found in living fully through loss.
Reception and book signing to follow.
This event is co-sponsored by Minnesota Public Radio, the University of St. Thomas, the University of Minnesota Press, and the ALS Association of Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota.
This event will be held at the University of St. Thomas, O'Shaughnessy Educational Center Auditorium, Cleveland Avenue between Portland and Ashland avenues, St. Paul. For parking, please use the Anderson Parking Facility on the southwest corner of Cretin and Grand Avenues at St. Thomas.
