More about Michelle Citrin: www.michellecitrin.com At just 5'1, it's hard to believe that such a powerful voice could come out of Michelle Citrin. There is a reason why Time.com recently listed Michelle in their Top Ten list of "New Jewish Rock Stars" and the Jerusalem Post call Michelle "The Jewish IT Girl." Michelle is best known as the creator and star of viral video hits including "20 Things to do with Matzah," "Call Your Zeyde", "Rosh Hashanah Girl" and "Hanukah Lovin." In total, these videos have received millions of hits from around the world and has led to the press referring to Michelle as, "A YouTube Sensation." Michelle's viral video successes have lead to media coverage ranging from the New York Times to the Huffington Post as well as Good Morning America, CNN, CBS and even being featured on Yahoo.com's homepage! This year, Michelle had the great honor of performing The National Anthem and her original soulful pop-folk in front of a crowd of 13,000 people inclusive of members of Congress. Fully independent from any record label, Michelle has sold thousands of copies of her records. Her engaging live performances and talent for writing catchy and meaningful songs have garnered rave reviews and numerous accolades; including being named one of Billboard Music's "Top Songwriters", VH-1's Song of the Year finalist, Great American Songwriting Honor, and finalist in Sony Music's Future Rock Competition. Extensive international touring has resulted in a rapidly growing, devoted grassroots fan base. She has shared the stage with Grammy Award winning artists Michelle Branch and Dave Koz, Gold selling artist Matisyahu, and Tracy Bonham.
"The first thing that strikes you about Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Michelle Citrin isn't her tiny 5'1 frame, her trademark dreadlocks or the huge sound that pours out of her mouth when she sings. Rather, it's how incredibly warm, welcoming and effusive she is, even when approached by complete strangers. She has an engaging smile, a ready hug and an openness about her that is instantly reflected in her music." - The Jerusalem Post "Michelle Citrin's soulful voice, skillful guitar playing, humorous in between song banter and unpretentious demeanor has captured the eyes and ears of her audience all over the world. Arlene McKanic of the Greenwich Village Gazette says, "the audience is left with the feeling that they're in the presence of someone who's doing exactly what she's meant to do". - Greenwich Village Gazette
More about Calico:
Calico is a group of high schoolers and college kids making music far beyond their years. Their songs are quiet, folksy and rounded out with strings. For their youth, their musical maturity is impressive to say the least. - PasteMagazine.com "10 Idaho Bands you Should Listen to Right Now"
