Beer Tasting Class: What's Water Got to Do with It?
The basic ingredients of beer are water, a starch source (malted barley) that will converted to sugars, a yeast to produce the fermentation, and a flavoring such as hops. Beer is composed mostly of water. Regions have water with different mineral components; so, different regions were originally better suited to making certain types of beer, thus giving them a regional character. Let's see how water changes the brew, shall we?
The Curious Palate is a tasting class series that is designed to explore the world of wine, beer and spirits and learn your palate in an intimate and friendly atmosphere. The Curious Palate is for the taster who wants to take their personal wine, beer and spirits experience to a new level by building knowledge...while having fun! Space is limited; reservations are required. Curious Palate Tasting Classes are $25.00 per person and includes the beverage tasting, paired food bites, and engaging education.
