The Grownup Noise & Decker
The Grownup Noise has maintained and built on its fan base during the intervening years through a savvy combination of eccentric pop songs, natural talent and determination. They also celebrated their first official SXSW performance in the spring of 2012. Last year, The Grownup Noise had the honor of performing at the Oberon theater in Cambridge, a benefit show for 'The One Fund', with 100% of the proceeds going to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
This Time With Feeling their 2nd release was recorded throughout Boston and New England recording studios, a cabin in Maine, and even vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Paul Hansen's bathroom, where the band laid down some final vocal takes. The record was mixed in North Carolina by studio wizard Scott Solter (John Vanderslice, Spoon, Okkervil River, St. Vincent, Lost in the Trees), who also performed on several tracks, adding important finishing sonic touches and polishing their textural landscapes.
All five members of The Grownup Noise (Paul Hansen vocals, guitar, keys; Adam Sankowski bass, keys, vocals; Rachel Arnold cello, vocals; and Aine Fujioka drums, vocals; Todd Marsten accordion, keys) are multi-instrumentalists and equal contributors to Feeling's umbrella of styles.
DECKER: "When people ask what kind of music I playI don't really know what to say. All I can really say is that the desert is integral to my sound."
So says Brandon Decker. Since 2009, the Sedona, AZ based songwriter has written, produced and released a trove of mesmerizing music; an expansive palette of folk, gospel, rock and psychedelia recorded under the nom de plume decker.
