Cabernet Shootout
Eat Drink GoDo! In partnership with Bay Area Wine PAIRINGS and Affairs of the Vine, invites Cabernet enthusiasts and all those who have yet to make up their minds to the 9th Annual Cabernet Shootout Challenge.
You get to judge 2 blind flights of 16 top-rated wines yes I said it thats 32 wines!! You taste and then vote for your favorite and we compare your findings to wine industry professionals and at the end of the afternoon we crown a series of winners!
Enjoy the experience without the crowd crush of the mega-tastings or long drives to Passport weekends. The event includes:
A wine lovers blind tasting of Cabernets to select favorites among the wines selected by the experts
A walk-around tasting to discuss releases with the vintners who submitted wines for judging
Sale of Medal-winning Cabernets from the Cabernet Shootout 2014
Winemaker panels discussing the unique characteristics of different Cabernet growing areas & styles - VIP
Over the course of many weeks this past fall, a distinguished group of wine industry professionals assessed a broad range of Cabernet Sauvignons, Cabernet Francs and Cabernet blends and chose the best of the best at the Cabernet Shootout. These finalists can now be evaluated by consumers participating in the Cabernet Shootout Challenge.

This is a special Pro/Am competition, the results of the professionals' Cab Shootout will then be compared to the tally of the 'amateurs' Cab Challenge, both tabulated separately by gender.
This distinctly different format provides a special opportunity to compare your favorites of this taste-off to those of the 'tastemakers' in the wine industry. It also allows participants to sample and rate very limited production rising star wines.
Attendees will also be able to mingle and meet with a number of the vintners from the wineries that participated in the Cabernet Shootout in an open walk around tasting accompanied by various nibbles.
Sample wines from a mix of boutique producers from appellations located throughout the West Coast will be poured including varietals other than Cabernets. Participating wineries can also choose to sell their Cabs for take away.
We will also be raffling off bottles of killer Cabs from the participating wineries to raise funds for a youth oriented charities and since we are expecting 25+ wineries to pour in the walk around tasting, and no more than 300 tickets will be sold, the odds are quite good that you can walk away with a superb bottle of vino.
