A Strong Foundation - Beginner/Internediate AcroYoga Intensive
A Strong Foundation - Beginner/Intermediate AcroYoga Intensive with Kathy Gade, Liz Williams, Crystal Hatzimichael, and Ariel Mihic
Join the Fantastic Four and watch your practice soar! Learn from FOUR top teachers in the San Francisco Bay Area, plus special guest stars throughout the workshop.
This program is designed for students transitioning from beginning to intermediate status. A Strong Foundation offers a great opportunity for beginner/intermediate practitioners to refine their practice while being challenged with acrobatic transitions. This will also be a great opportunity for experienced flyers to work on their basing skills, and for bases to learn to fly.
The curriculum will cover acrobatic principles, strength training and calibrations, classic acrobatic poses, basic to intermediate transitions, handstands, and an introduction to therapeutic flying and Thai massage.
No prerequisites. However, a strong play ethic is encouraged, and a willingness to enjoy yourself is highly recommended.

About the instructors:
Crystal Hatzmichael has been an AcroYogini for over 5 years. She is a fun, loving, and dedicated instructor. With a background of over 11 years as a full-time massage therapist and 5 years teaching Vinyasa Flow classes, Crystal interweaves her knowledge from experience and trainings to support her students.
Ariel Mihic is a yogini with a passion for adventure and an insatiable curiosity to live a life less ordinary. She is an Ashtangi at heart, though her practice has evolved into all shapes and sizes, and lots more upside-down time. Ariel currently teaches as part of the YogaSlackers, sharing the modalities of AcroYoga, slackline yoga, acrobatics, and Thai massage. She redefines balance in every aspect of her life, finding passion in the endless search for wisdom, compassion, and the elusive art of slowing down. Ariel has a Doctorate in Pharmacy and certifications in the following yoga disciplines: Ashtanga, AcroYoga, YogaSlackers, Thai Massage/Pranassage.
Kathy Gade, owner and creator of Body Balance is a certified AcroYoga Teacher, Thai Massage Therapist, Nutrition Educator and Handstand Enthusiast. She has been training and teaching a variety of Movement Disciplines in the Bay Area since 2008. Coming from a background of competitive Diving and Water Polo she brings strength and grace to her teaching with a focus on technique to allow everyone to feel success at their level of practice. With a desire to cultivate trust and community Kathy blends playfulness and loving intention to her passion for the movement arts. She is one of the few BadAss female AcroYoga bases teaching classes and workshops locally and internationally.
Liz Williams brings to every endeavor a passion and zeal that surpasses the ordinary. She is inspired by her friend Foster's credo, "anything is accessible with an accessible mind." Her heartfelt desire is to continue to deepen and enrich her practice and to share the bounty -- strength, meaning, peace, and fun! Liz has been working in the healing arts since 2000; she is a licensed physical therapist, certified massage practitioner, and holds certifications in Professional Yoga Therapy and YogaSlackers.
