West End Wine & Dine
Webster Street in West Alameda arguably has the largest variety of cuisine concentrated in the smallest geographical area. Within six short blocks, you'll find restaurants serving up food from around the world. Whether it's fast food or fine dining, comfort food or dim sum delicacies, a dining expedition on the West side of the island can take you to Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, China, India, Peru, Italy, Japan or France. And at nearby Spirits Alley at the Alameda Point local wineries, distillers and brewers are crafting beverages that are getting worldwide attention.
The annual Wine & Dine event is a great way to explore this wide variety of dining and drinking options with a showcase of six selected restaurants. The event begins with a reception at Otaez Mexican Restaurant where diners taste local wines and other beverages, sample appetizers from the participating restaurants, enjoy music, local art, and mingle. A free raffle will be held, with prizes from West Alameda merchants. Diners then decide which restaurant they would like to go to for their entrée and complete dining experience.
Bucket O'Crawfish - Enjoy Cajun/Creole food without leaving the island; crab and shrimp boils alligator sausage, crawfish and mussels are on the menu
Café Jolie - A French bistro with a casual elegance, offers a special entree for the evening, drink specials, and live jazz
Chicha Peruvian Bistro - Tapas & Pisco Bar- innovation, tradition and fusion of Peruvian Cuisine using the best local and seasonal ingredients
East Ocean Seafood Restaurant - This family owned and operated restaurant, known for its delicious dim sum, will offer a special menu
Otaez Mexican Restaurant - Offering authentic Mexican food and world class margaritas.
Pasta Pelican - A waterfront favorite, you'll find traditional Italian food and seafood specialties and the best waterfront view in town.
Local wine and brews from Rock Wall Wines, R&B Cellars and Faction Brewing.
Ticket price of $30 covers the cost of appetizer tastings and 2 beverage tastings at the reception, and a full dinner at the chosen restaurant (tax, tip and additional beverages excluded).
Wine & Dine is sponsored by the West Alameda Business Association, a non-profit organization that promotes and advocates for businesses and merchants in West Alameda.
