Spoken Movement
MalayaWorks Dance Theater will be showcasing new works by director, Annielille Gavino Kollman in the upcoming, Spoken Movement . Taken from the popular idea, Spoken Word, Spoken Movement aims to create social awareness and address timeless issues using poetry in the form of dance.
Guest Artist include Claves Unidos, Johnnie Mercer and The Red Project ( VCU graduate ) and New York group,Vashtidance Theater will be also be a part of Spoken Movement .
Programming will include "An immigrant's story" previously presented in the New Releases Choreographer's Showcase at Dance Place, Washington DC; "Greyscale", exploring pigeons and what they represent in society, and a Richmond world Premier, "Moon Tide" a contemporary ballet exploring a mother and daughter relationship.
Showing will run approximately one hour and a half.
