7:30 a.m.- 8:00 a.m. Registration
8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Breakfast & Lecture by Carl McManama, DDS "Direct Posterior Restorations: 100 Years after GV Black"
11:00 a.m.- Golf with boxed lunch
2:00 p.m. - Tennis
5:00 p.m. - Cocktails, Dinner, Awards & Auction (time is flexible depending completion of tournament)

LECTURE: Direct Posterior Restorations: 100 Years after GV Black presented by Carl McManama, DDS 2 CEU's
What would GV Black think about the state of operative dentistry in 2015? This very practical lecture will focus on minimally invasive 21st century operative dentistry. Dr. McManama will compare old and new procedures and materials. He will use a logical approach to address treatment planning, decision making and direct restorative techniques.
Learning Objectives:
Understand what minimally invasive dentistry really means
Make logical decisions about when to use amalgam instead of composite
Understand the big difference between today's bonding agents and matrix systems
Make evidence-based decisions when dealing with deep soft dentin and pulp exposures

Dr. McManama graduated from Loyola University of Chicago School of Dentistry in 1975 and completed a residency at Forsyth Dental center in Boston in 1976. He is now Professor in the Department of General Dentistry and course director for all courses in Operative Dentistry at Boston University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He has been at Boston University since 1976 and served as Chairman of the Department of Operative Dentistry from 1986 to 1995. He has received many teaching awards including the 2005 Metcalf Cup and Prize for Excellence in Teaching which honors one member of the entire Boston University faculty each year. He served as the Yankee Dental Congress General chair in 2014 and has been honored with many awards for his Massachusetts Dental Society volunteering.

In addition to his teaching, he has also maintained a busy private practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts for the past thirty eight years.
Dr. McManama has presented courses on topics related to restorative and operative dentistry to all levels of dental audiences. He has lectured at numerous national and international meetings. His courses always focus on practical, real-world information.

ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education.
