Judaism stands on three legs: prayer, study of Torah and acts of loving-kindness. The practice of mindfulness is at the core of each of these three paths, the means by which we learn to let go of habits of fear and constriction and replace them with equanimity, gratitude, laughter and openness to whatever life brings. The class will introduce you to mindfulness practice in Judaism through lecture, discussion and contemplative exercises that engage mind, heart, body and spirit. Enrollment is for anyone interested, including those with no current religious affiliation or experience with mindfulness practice or meditation.
Details: This program is part of our ongoing "Thursdays at the LSI." The class meets at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation on five Thursdays from 12:15-2:00pm: February 19, 26, March 12, 19, 26, 2015. Contact the institute for more information.
